What is DND – Do Not Disturb All About?
D.N.D stands for Do Not Disturb. D.N.D subscription service is a service introduced by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) that enables mobile subscribers to opt-out of marketing/promotional messages of which bulk SMS is classified as one. Hence, mobile numbers on the DND list are not able to receive bulk SMS via the promotional SMS gateway route. Over 30 million subscribers were placed on partial D.N.D subscription by telecom operators.

We also have another type of subscription called the Full D.N.D subscription. This type of subscribers do not receive any promotional or partial D.N.D messages. The only messages they receive are messages with an approved Sender. For example commercial banks, hospitals, logistic companies and such like.
HOW TO CHECK YOUR D.N.D STATUS
To check your D.N.D status, text ‘STATUS‘ to ‘2442‘ (works for all GSM networks in Nigeria).
HOW TO OPT OUT OF D.N.D
To opt-out of DND,
- MTN: text ‘ALLOW’ to ‘2442’
- GLO: text ‘CANCEL’ to ‘2442’
- 9Mobile: text ‘START’ to ‘2442’
- Airtel text ‘ALLOW’ to ‘2442’
